I was thinking about some strengths of mine, and I thought it would be good to list them here. There are (hopefully!) others, but this seems like a good start.
- I’m open and honest about my problems. I’m done with trying to pretend, both to myself and others, that these problems don’t exist.
- I seek help when I need it. I do this both for my own sake and for the sake of others– if I take care of myself, I am in a better position to help others when they need it.
- I’m very self-aware. I seek to understand myself and my actions and thoughts, and I work to help bring them in line with how I want to think and be.
- I try to be compassionate and help others. I don’t want others to struggle like I have, and while I can’t prevent that, I like to do what I can to help those in similar positions or even in very different situations from my own.
- I work to make the world a more understanding place. While I can’t change everybody, I can change my own words and actions and educate others, in the hopes that people will be more understanding of me, people like me, and others in general.
